RECENT TRAINING EVENTS:
All staff have undertaken core training this year. With the introduction of new guidelines regarding Safeguarding everyone is undergoing updated training in this area at Level 1a, 1b and SSCB Level 2.
The training company, Eurosource is currently offering Level 2 and 3 Playwork training and Team Leader training for Persons in Charge.
Staff are experienced and qualified individuals who do their utmost to ensure that all of the children in their care are safe and happy.
Most have playwork and childcare qualifications and all are required to undertake regular training courses in Safeguarding Children, First Aid and Food Hygiene. Management believe in the benefits of a fully trained workforce and encourage all members of staff in their professional development.
Prospective employees undergo rigorous interview procedures before commencing work and all are required to have an enhanced criminal records bureau check (CRB)
The Government have decided that the proposed VBS (Vetting and Barring Scheme) be shelved for the forseeable future. We will update you on this as and when we hear.
As part of our Safeguarding policy and in the wake of the Vanessa George scandal and other high profile cases, we have introduced new rules regarding mobile phones and social networking sites. This is to ensure that parents can be certain that management and staff are doing all that they can to safeguard the children in their care.
